Patti LaBelle was much better. Here is a textbook example when the original is better than the cover.

Daft Punk - Digital Love

Daft Punk, French dance act whose hits include Da Funk and One More Time. They created 'Daft Club' exclusively for fans of the band which is their equivalent of 'Napster', a form of downloading music. Which reminds me of ringtones and its ads from mid to late 2000s/2010s.

Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Through This

Garage music was still going strong at this point in 2001 courtesy of this classic that topped the UK singles chart twice which obviously became a best seller.

So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds

This late 2001 track was later immortalised in a transportation advert for the Luton Airport Express with different lyrics, promoting the '32 minutes to go' campaign. In other words, a thirty minute journey by train from London St Pancras to the Bedfordshire based airport.

Alcazar - Crying At The Discotheque

This was covered in recent times by Sophie Ellis Bextor. She must be a disco fan, no surprises. But I remember the original based on a sample of an old song created by Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards, better known for their work with Sister Sledge.
