I began reading Nevil Shute with "A town Like Alice". I was so enamored by his style that I never lost any opportunity to search and find his books and now I have read them all.. But we are digressing " A town like Alice " is fresh,and exciting in a genteel and gentle way. It also leaves a strong impression about the kind of women that Nevil saw, met and lived with in those early days of the 20th century.

The best book ever written.Shute is a master no doubt about that he could foresee and describe it that requires imagination and a lot of courage. I cry every-time I read that book. I just wish all the politicians and warmongers of the world would read it. Somebody please send a copy to Abdul Qadeer in Pakistan.
