The Day of the Jackal Report Abuse
Simply the best thriller ever written. Apparently Forsyth wrote this in 29 days, and yet it's a masterpiece. A policeman has to pit his wits against an assassin out to kill General De Gaule

No one except him could write such an engrossing unputdownable and absorbing novel especially poignant in view of the present Ukraine situation and the governmental episodes well drawn. all 478 pages.
