20 Best Movies of 2000

Hands down one of the best movies ever made. The true emotions and personal growth and relationships that come from a 15 year old kid traveling with one of his favorite bands to write a story for Rolling Stone, really drag you in. William will be one of your favorite characters ever in a movie. Certainly in this one, he is the only thing that matters and he is surrounded by a bunch of loathsome hypocritical scumbags. He can't stay away from them and you won't be able to either.

Tom Hanks and a Volleyball are basically the only characters in this movie, which sounds dreadfully dull but somehow it was one of the best movies of the year 2000. It is strange to think such a simple premise could be so interesting, but that is just a testament to what a great actor Tom Hanks is.

This movie makes me want to cry, throw up, and scream, and it is beyond inappropriate to the point that I can't believe it was even released. It is on the same level as A Clockwork Orange for me, where I don't want to watch it but I can't turn away. It is an amazing look at seriously pathetic and desperate people. It is a trainwreck that you can't walk away from.

By now you probably understand that I have a weakness for superhero movies and this one is no different. It's not because the acting is amazing, or the effects are great, but just because the idea of a bunch of kids/adults who have superpowers is just really really cool.

The acting in this movie is basically horrendous but the idea of the movie is genius. Genius enough to spawn (to this point) 3 sequels, and most likely more to come. A kid has a very vivid premonition of a terrible event that will kill many people, escapes before the event with a few others in tow, and gradually Death comes for them one by one while they try to stop it. It is gory and kind of gross but the premise is very intelligent.
