The Best Houseplants for Those Missing a Green Thumb

Not only are plants good for the interal environment - breathing in your carbon dioxide and exhaling nice clean oxygen, but they LOOK nice too. Unfortunately, not everyone has a green thumb. This list comprises the houseplants that have been shown to be the easiest to care for.

This plant grows in any sort of conditions, including being completely forgotten about for weeks and even extremely low lighting. In fact it seems to PREFER low lighting.

Thorny Cacti - as compared to the Christmas Cactus, are much simpler plants and pretty much take care of themselves. Do not put where small children can touch - pets will figure it out quickly enough.

Ivy is rediculously easy to care for, grows in just about any lighting condition, and will take over your world if you don't keep an eye on it.

Another low-light tolerant plant. Lucky bamboo really isn't bamboo, it can be trained into exotic looking curls and swoops and can be grown in water until it has developed really good roots.

This flowering plant seems to do best when it is ignored. It is also extremely tolerant of low lights, though you won't get as many blossoms as you would with better lighting.

These trailing/creeping plants just keep growing, and growing, and growing. Very tolerant of most any condition, they are extremely difficult to kill.

It's best if you DO forget to water this plant for long stretches at a time, as too much water will cause it to rot.

Very hard to kill - in fact, they tend to grow well - and quickly. These babies can reach up to ten feet tall, so watch your ceiling!

Jade Plants are consistant as to growth, and can tolerate quite harsh conditions.

This plant is so easy to grow that if you find a panda plant leaf on it's own, simply lay it across a pot of soil, and it will start growing and rooting on its own.

Oddly enough, even if you kill this plant through neglect - all you have to do is water it and it comes right back to life.
