Although not in Santa Fe, it is a short drive from there. Visiting this national monument is like taking a trip back in time. A trip FAR back into time. There are numerous petroglyphs on several different trails. The park is open 362 days of the year. They have a visitor's center where you can get more information on the park, as well as purchase maps and a variety of books that have pictures and interpretations of the petroglyphs.

Many people come to see the historical railway every year. It has been running for over 100 years, and still takes riders on runs. They have day runs and night runs. The historic depot is still standing and works as a gift shop now.

This is the oldest standing church in America. It dates back to the early 1600s when Indians from Mexico built it. It has had renovations over the years and at one point the roof burned down, but the majority of this church is in tact. It is a very neat thing to see in person.

This plaza is an historic landmark. There are tons of shops, restaurants, and even an American Indian War Memorial. There are tons of art galleries, as well as a performing arts stage. Many weekend nights there are bands playing. This is a fun place to visit while in Santa Fe.

Santa Fe is surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There are tons of paths for hiking, biking, and even snowshoeing. For the more adventurous there are companies that can take you river rafting.
