Put more feet on the world record than any previous or since thrower. He was ranked in the top two or three in the world for about 16 years. He set seven world records and won silver medal in 1972. He was the first to throw 60 and seventy meters. To match this accomplishment Jurgen Schult would have to throw around 260 feet. He won world championships, and threw over 230 feet in 1971.
