The Last of the Breed Report Abuse
This story is set in Siberia during the Cold War. It stands out because it is set in a different kind of land than most of Louis L’Amour’s other books so the characters face different challenges, and he tells the story from a different point of view. The main character is a Native American and so he is telling the story from the opposite side he normally tells it from. It is very well written and one of the best.

Very fun and exciting. The plot is not predictable like some of Louis l’Amour’s books, and I was on the edge of my seat reading it.

The way Lamour wrote this one takes you to the scene, and the suspense throughout the pages makes you want to read this one over and over.

Ride The River Report Abuse
Part of the Sackett legacy, this is the only Lamour (that I know of) with a female heroine as the main character. She proves herself and her family name, and Lamour succeeds in writing from a different perspective.

Many collections of Lamour's stories have been published since this one in 1975, but none beat it - with Tell Sackett and Cap Moffit in its character list, this is the best collection.
