ACCORDING TO IMDb, PAUL NEWMAN WAS NOT IN THIS FILM. IN ADDITION, THEY SAY THAT DUE TO ITS OBJECTIONABLE MATERIAL IT WAS NEVER PUT ON DVD. THIS GUEST, ALSO OBJECTIONABLE, HAS DISRUPTED MANY LISTS ON THIS WEBSITE AND IS TO BE IGNORED.

The "special effects" it's known for were provided by Ken Norton. You should see the movie before you decide it's "not eligible" for the list. And, Paul Newman does a decent job in it, too.

MANDINGO STARRED JAMES MASON, SUSAN GEORGE AND PERRY KING. ACCORDING TO IMDb, THE STORY WAS: A SLAVE OWNER IN THE 1840S TRAINS ONE OF HIS SLAVES TO BE A BARE-KNUCKLE FIGHTER. BECAUSE OF THE CONTROVERSY OVER THE FILM, IT HAS NEVER BEEN SCREENED TO AN AUDIENCE SINCE 1975. IT WAS NOT KNOWN FOR SPECIAL EFFECTS, SO IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THIS LIST AND NEEDS TO BE VOTED DOWN.
