My Favorite TV Dramas

The mind bending-est on all mind bending shows watching The Prisoner can leave you stunned. I've never enjoyed something more and understood it less. Everything about this how clicked - from the themes of paranoia and sanity to the quirky dialogue to the perfect costumes and sets.

Pierce Brosnan was great as the detective, later became a movie star and played the role of James Bond.

While I think the last two seasons jumped the shark no one can deny how ground breaking this show was. Its a testament to its brilliance that a drama about a sociopathic mob boss was able to resonate with all strata of American society. This show became a force of nature the lies of which we haven't seen in the cable TV era.

This HBO series had it all: a cast of talented actors, a ridiculously deep backstory of which we only received glimpses, sharp writing and an epic 5 season story arc that was supposed to span years. Unfortunately, low ratings and high production costs killed this show after only two seasons and One Book into creator Daniel Knauf's Three Book story.

There's nothing I can say about this show that hasn't been said elsewhere. It's so honest and real it can be difficult to watch at times. One of the few TV programs that can change your life.

This show has my favorite main character ever. Greg House is so amazing because he's such a rarity. There aren't many shows who could make their hero a drug addicted misanthrope who treats everyone like garbage and genuinely hates the very people whose lives he's supposed to save. I like how they consistently resist the urge to make him more likable.
