Arguably James Young at his guitar-thrashing and banshee-screaming-vocal best on arguably the best Styx album, 1977's 'The Grand Illusion.'

1975 hard-rocking cut from 'Equinox' didn't go anywhere as a single, but has survived as a second-tier classic rock hit.

Lights Report Abuse
1979's 'Cornerstone' garnered a new group of fans with the #1 ballad "Babe" but turned away some of the band's more hardcore fans. Tommy Shaw's ode to life on the stage didn't make it as a single, but did maintain his tradition of contributing a decent mid-tempo rocker.
