This Train Don't Stop There Anymore
Brilliant, shockingly self-revealing lyrics, a production that's a second coming of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," and Elton's plaintive vocals make for a latter-day megaclassic

The piano version off of "Don't Shoot Me" is simply an amazingly song. A more experienced elton really breaths new life the hidden masterpiece.
The original harpsichord version on Empty Sky. is okay, but the harpsichord seems to distract from Bernies beautiful lyrics.

Elton's masterpiece. Very cool church organ to start things off. Then EJ comes in with beautiful piano work steadily building to a crescendo that leads into Love Lies Bleeding I just know EJ had to have broken some piano wires as he hits those keys so hard!!!

Just listened to this song again after 30 years and couldn't believe how good it still is. I'm busy going through an Elton John revival and this has just leapfrogged funeral for a friend into my personal no. 1 spot. I'd be keen to hear favourites of others who rate these two songs.

This has always been one of my "underground" favorite Elton songs. And probably one of the greatest songs about our Native Americans. Bernie just creates such imagery with "where the buffalo graze in clover fields without the sound of guns" and with the final line
"and piece to this young warrior comes...with bullet hole" just drives the point home!
