Your bedroom should be used for 2 things, sleep and sex. Id you have electronic gadgets in there, put them elsewhere

As soon as you realize sleep is not coming, take a OTC sleep aid or try the herbal type to relax. Valerian root, Calm, Knock Out, etc.

Boring - or at least heavy - reading is best. After awhile your eyes tend to close and your brain goes numb.

One of the herbals that are known for relaxing and/or sleep inducing. Sleepytime, Valerian root, camomile.

Of whatever your brain insists on going over and over. Write it all down and get it all out.

If you are genuinely hungry eat a lite snack to ease the "growlies". Its not easy to sleep with an empty stomache.

If you habitually snack all evening up to bedtime, a too full stomach could be your problem.

If nothing is working just give up. Stay up all night with a GOOD book, no naps the next day and try it again the next night!
