A prolific author of poetry, novels and personal journals written at different milestones in her life - starting with "Journal of Solitude" and going on to the last one I read; "At Eighty-Two". She leads an active, interesting life, and is a wonderful author.

The author takes a complete rest break - under doctor's orders - and finds herself in Bruach, Hebrides! Crazy, funny, cheerful, strange happenings. I doubt this is what the doctor had in mind!

Miss Read Report Abuse
A great British author writing novels based on her life as a school teacher in villages across England.....wonderful descriptions of life in small villages and of the cranky, odd, friendly and often hilarious, people that live in them. Having written several different series of life in different villages, you become well acquainted with the inhabitants - a 'can't wait to get the next book' feeling.
