Miami Vice Report Abuse
This iconic cop show raised the bar for this genre and has yet to be equaled for plots, action, music, photography and acting. This was Don Johnson at his unshaven Sonny Crockett best - a brilliant actor whose appearance set the style for men all over the world that persists in the millions of men who sport two-day beards today.

Scrubs (2001-2010) Report Abuse
Despite airing after the cultural phenomenon known as Friends for a year and a half, ratings didn't matter in the end for Scrubs. It would end up being a small niche show with a very passionate fanbase. The fans' loyalty to the show is what kept it on NBC for seven seasons, and many of those fans followed the show to ABC for its final two seasons.

Family Guy (1999-2002; 2005-present) Report Abuse
This has to be on the list of cult shows or else this list has no credibility. Family Guy wasn't a hit at all in its original three-year run on Fox. It was the show's committed and really passionate fans that convinced Fox to bring the show back in 2005 after seeing how well DVDs were selling and how it did in reruns on Comedy Central. Indeed, Family Guy fans tend to be very obsessive about the show!

Revenge (2011-present) Report Abuse
Go anywhere on the Internet that is TV-related and you will find at least one Revenge fan. It's unreal how obsessive these people are about their show and even claim that there's "buzz" surrounding it. Truth is, the only "buzz" at this moment that surrounds Revenge is coming from other Revenge fans on the web. Revenge fans may be some of the most annoying people you may come across on the Internet. Definitely a cult show.

Seinfeld Report Abuse
I don't think I've ever heard a sitcom so frequently quoted. I can't believe that nearly everytime I start out a discussion about Seinfeld with, "You know that episode where...", nearly everyone says, "Yes, how about when...."
15 points - added 13 years ago by guest - 1 comment
Comments:
How is Seinfeld a cult show? I understand that an unconventional TV show like Lost made the list, but Seinfeld? Isn't it a bit too normal to be a cult show? If I'm not mistaken, it was the #1 show in the country for a few seasons including the final season.

The Office (2005-present) Report Abuse
I have NO idea why this is not on the list already. This is very much a cult show. It wasn't a hit in the ratings until the second season when it followed My Name Is Earl and grew its largely obsessive fanbase from there. There's no doubt that this clever, subtle, and innovative comedy helped inspire Modern Family, which is one of the biggest shows on TV right now. Office never reached Modern's widespread popularity but its fans are much more passionate and that's really what makes a cult show.

Lost Report Abuse
Lost is a newer example of a cult tv show.
9 points - added 14 years ago by Peter - 6 comments
Comments:
Lost was a top 10 show in the 18-49 demographic for its whole run. But that means squat because Lost fans were beyond obsessive. I know this firsthand because I caught up with the show for the final season and was extremely obsessed with it. All my friends who watched Lost were extremely obsessive about the show also. Lost is arguably THE definition of a cult show.
Added 12 years ago by guest, -2 points Vote + to improve this comment's ranking Vote - to decrease this comment's ranking
Highest rating actually means it CAN'T be a cult show. By definition the word means something like "a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister." The only thing st4range about LOStis why people like a show thats really not very good...

kenny vs spenny Report Abuse
best friends - worst enemies without a doubt my favorite tv show of all time ... so if ur reading this and realize you havent seen this show please just take the time to check it out i feel its my duty to get others to watch this show . i laugh more for kenny vs spenny than any other show it dosnt even show in my country but ive seen all 88 episode at least 10 times minimum and my favorite i must have watched over 30 times and from what ive seen it has a monster die hard fan base seriously Kenny vs. Spenny was a Canadian comedy reality television series about Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice, who face each other in various competitions. The loser of the episode must perform an act of humiliation, usually selected by the winner. Kenny: A witty wise-cracker and brilliant schemer. Kenny's a goofball looking for a shortcut. He loves to humiliate Spenny and will do anything to win. Spenny: A stressed out, neurotic, short-fused adult-type who believes in preparation and hard work. He's responsible, often angry, introspective, paranoid and ethical. its actually had almost 20 remakes from different countries and eventually u get to know the guys and find it even funnier i was going to end with a quote from the show but its hard to pick out 1 cos there is so many so please take 2 seconds to youtube kenny and spennys youtube manifesto or some other vids on you tube remember the show gets funnier the more you get to know them so be sure to watch a few episodes

Glee hasn't had consistently brilliant writing since the first 13 episodes of the first season but this too is a cult show. Before it became a big thing in its second season, it already had a small dedicated fanbase that obsessed and constantly talked about the show. It looked like a mini-Lost in terms of obsessive fans. It's not a big thing anymore but the hardcore fans of the show are still committed to what stories and music the show has to offer.
