The Union Jack is also red, white, and blue. Interesting America picked the same colors.

This flag features a mini UK flag in the top left corner with sporadic white stars throughout.

Comments:
The white stars are not sporadic. They form the constellation "Crux"; the southern cross. This same constellation appears on the flag of New Zealand and some other South Pacific flags

France Report Abuse
You may know this one because of the "three colors trilogy," a series of movies named "Blue," "White," and "Red."

Comments:
The flag of France, often called the Tricoleur, was adopted early in the great French Revolution 1789-1799. The flag was adopted in 1790, and combined the colours blue and red, from the traditional arms of the city of Paris, and white which was the colour of the then reigning house of Bourbon. The Tricoleur was the national flag from 1790 to 1815, again from 1830 to 1940, and since 1944 to the present.

China Report Abuse

Comments:
The red, blue and white flag is the flag of Taiwan, and was the former flag of the Republic of China from 1911 until 1949. After the Chinese Communists won their civil war in 1949, the former government, the Kuomintang, fled to the island of Taiwan (Formosa), as they controlled the Chinese navy. Taiwan still formally claims the name "Republic of China", though its international recognition is limited.

Faroe Islands Report Abuse

Comments:
The Faroe Islands are not an independent country. They are part of the kingdom of Denmark. If subnational jurisdictions are included, this list would be much longer (i.e. Texas, Malaya, etc.)

Serbia and Montenegro Report Abuse

Comments:
Montenegro formally declared independence from Serbia on July 3, 2006. The flag referred to above is now solely the flag of Serbia. (The new Montenegrin national flag is predominantly red and yellow, with small amounts of blue and green on the shield of the coat of arms.)
