Grew up in WA, live in Denver now. The Gorge is just slightly better than Red Rocks. River + Sunset win out

Unquestionably the greatest setting for a concert. I saw Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan there in the late 1990's. Pure heaven!

Tuscaloosa Amphitheater Report Abuse
Situated on the beautiful Black Warrior River and nestled against America's oldest wooden railroad trussle. The magnificent venue has floor to ceiling mosaic tile in the restrooms and hand crafted stonework around the exterior of the buildings. In Tuscaloosa, Alabama... just steps away from the University of Alabama!

Blossom Music Center Report Abuse
Set in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, just outside of Akron, and Cleveland. Stunning views, very secluded, and the amphitheater is just gorgeous and has won awards for it's architecture and acoustics. Nothing better than catching a DMB show there on a summer night!!!!

A wonderful setting along the Waterway with a choice of comfortable orchastra level seating or sloped lawn seats. The Pavillion caters to both performing arts and contemporary artists. It is the second most heavily used amphitheater in the world. Wonderful sound quality.

It would be better if it wasn't ran by corporate America!!
Added 8 years ago by guest, 0 points Vote + to improve this comment's ranking Vote - to decrease this comment's ranking
It could have been a poorly funded project and it would still be one of the premiere venues for live music being on the same ground Country Joe, Joplin, and Hendrix played during the legendary Woodstock festival. But it truly is a remarkable amphitheater from front row to the party up in the lawn. nearly 50 years later, baby boomers are still partying hard at this place.

The Woods Amphitheater at the Fontanel - Nashville TN Report Abuse
A beautiful, intimate outdoor music venue surrounded by the woods of the Fontanel property, which is situated on Barbara Mandrell's old estate... further rooting it in music history. The boxes and vip seats are cut out of the hillside... and to look out from them makes you feel as if your in a treehouse or a fort! A 'farm-to-fork' restaurant on property / family friendly atmosphere / frisbee golf / 2 miles of beautiful, free trails throughout the property. An all around gem in the south!
