Phoenix Art Museum Report Abuse
Sometimes cool and quiet go hand-in-hand. A great place to pick up on some culture while you're fleeing the oppressive summer sun, the Phoenix Art Museum is fun, educational, and free on Tuesday evenings!

Greater Phoenix Water Parks Report Abuse
Sometimes you want cool and not quiet. Sometimes you even want to get some sun. Sunsplash, Big Surf, and Wet 'n' Wild Phoenix (formerly Waterworld Safari) all provide a chance to stay cool while maintaining that Summer-is-a-party vibe.

Arizona Science Center Report Abuse
The Science Center is a great place to spend a boiling summer afternoon with the kids. There are plenty of activities and interactive exhibits to keep them busy, plus a giant IMAX screen for when you all get too tired to move.

Salt River Tubing Report Abuse
You can stay pretty cool on a blistering summer afternoon when you're partially submerged in 68-degree water. Tubing the Salt River provides for fun and relaxation and the opportunity to see the beautiful desert landscape around Phoenix. Don't forget your sunscreen!

Diamondbacks at Chase Field Report Abuse
The D-backs's domed, air-conditioned home field makes for a great place to escape the 110+ degree weather. Bask in the Americana instead of baking in the sun!

Wet Summer Fun in Arizona Report Abuse
Most people don't realize how easy it is to find a place to cool down in Arizona. The summer heat in Phoenix makes it imperative that you discover the beauty of Arizona Lakes, rivers and steams or take a slide down one of the waterslides in a waterpark. For more information, you can read an article I wrote recently that gives you a birds-eye view of some wet summer fun in Arizona by going to Hubpages, JLPeterson and reading my article, "Wet Summertime Fun in Arizona: Escape the Heat". Arizona is hot but fun!
