Never having felt lust before, he is frightened and angry at these feelings, and blames the girl (Esmerelda) for using 'witchcraft' on him and swears that she will either be his, or will burn in hell. Incredibly dark, but at the same time the adulterous topic is cleverly concealed enough for a common child to not understand the true meaning, but for adults to be intruiged and haunted by this dark and stunning piece of work.
