Adam Sandler Report Abuse
Although he was possibly best known for his funny songs on Weekend Update (e.g., The Thanksgiving Song, The Hanukkah Song, etc.) while on SNL, Sandler also created enduring characters like Canteen Boy and Cajun Man as well as giving hilarious treatments of Axl Rose, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, and Bono. His movies since leaving SNL continue to make audiences laugh with his trademark humor, which is slightly juvenile and a bit off-the-wall.

Eddie Murphy Report Abuse
Fantastic characters like angry Gumby, Mr. Robinson (of Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood), and Buckwheat made Eddie Murphy one of the most popular comedians on SNL. Since his time on the show, he has made his mark as one of the greatest comic actors of all time.

Will Ferrell Report Abuse
Hands down one of the funniest men on the planet, Ferrell not only made audiences laugh, but he also seemed to crack up his castmates in almost every skit he was in. He is always willing to take chances and go over the top just to get a laugh, and his quick wit is second to none.

Tina Fey Report Abuse
Beginning as a writer on SNL, Fey eventually became head writer and then joined the cast. Since leaving SNL, Fey has had incredible success with her own show, 30 Rock, which is loosely based on her experiences at SNL. Most recently, her dead-on impression of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin earned her even more accolades and admiration for her impressive comedic talent.

During his time on SNL, Hartman skillfully played a huge range of characters and was the bright spot in any skit in which he participated. His characters on News Radio and the Simpsons are also some of the funniest characters ever created.
