A standard file format in the print, (due to its capability at handling four color (C, M, Y, K) printing and the photography industry. TIFF files can also use lossy compression.

A lossy compression format that is most popular for the storing of photographs. JPEG is also used in web design for images where the level of quality that is needed exceeds that GIF files are capable of producing. The lossy compression method allows a user to reduce file size without sacrificing much quality.
