Top 20 "Supernatural" Episodes

This is definitely one of the most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching and beautifully written episodes of the entire show. It is the culmination of an angst-filled season in which the boys face the toughest battles yet.

Jared Padalecki gives one of his best performances in this episode. The last few minutes of the show are golden, as his character, Sam, portrays the perfect mix of numbness, fear, regret and resignation. He is willing yet again to sacrifice himself for the greater good. His interaction with Jensen Ackles is magic, as Jensen's character, Dean, dissuades him from making the ultimate sacrifice.

This episode is a classic humorous offering from the show. It allows the actors to show off their comedic skills why also showing Sam's vulnerable side.

This episode is a fitting end to the first season. It is especially important because it reveals to the boys Meg's true intentions and sets the stage for the many episodes in which she will appear throughout the show.

This 2-parter poignantly portrays Dean's love for his younger brother and the sacrifice he is willing to make on his behalf. The episode also explains further why the yellow-eyed demon is after Sam.
