The **** hit the fan a long time ago, the world as we knew it is gone, all that's left is a few scraggly survivors, weapons, and a whole lotta wasteland. *Beware of Cannibals.*

HELL (Bright) 2011 Report Abuse
* In the not too distant future, people struggle to survive their greatest enemy, the sun. * This movie is suffocatingly scary, three survivors travel by car across a blistering landscape, after most of the world has baked to death after the sun suddenly brightens, increasing world temperatures and drying up.. well, everything. Desperately searching for gas, their only shelter from the blistering sun is the car they live in, and water is more precious than gold. The movie is German, with subtitles, and the word 'Hell' is German for 'Bright' - but no translation is really necessary as this post-apocalyptic world truly does seem like hell. This is a great flick definitely worth watching, I completely forgot they were speaking another language about 5 minutes in.

THE DAY (2011) Report Abuse
*A group of five people working to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic future discover what they think is a safe, abandoned farmhouse, but they soon find themselves fighting to stay alive as a gang of bloodthirsty predators attack. *. . . . This movie has some excellent acting, some wicked suspense in the beginning, and a true eminence of hopeless desperation - it also has some very gritty and graphic violence at the end. XD A perfect cocktail of post-apocalyptic awesomeness. A very strong performance by Ashley Bell, whose character seems almost invisible in the beginning but then ends up pretty much owning the movie. This movie makes the point that being eaten by zombies is not the worst thing that could happen to you after the **** hits the fan..

THE BOOK OF ELI (2010) Report Abuse
*A post-apocalyptic tale, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. * . . . . Denzel, Mila Kunis, empty wastelands, giant-@ss machete's, an old western town full of psychotic survivors, a whole lotta walking and an amazing twist at the end - what's not to love?! This movie's one of my all time favorites. It's actually a bit more hopeful than others in this genre, which is kind of nice.
