Douglas scored the biggest upset in boxing history, and perhaps in all of sports history, when he knocked Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson in February 1990 in Tokyo. He lost his only title defense to Evander Holyfield and fought sparingly after that.

Rhodes, Smith and Walton were one-hit wonders for the Chicago Cubs. Rhodes hit three home runs on opening day against Dwight Gooden. Walton and Smith finished 1-2 in the 1989 Rookie of the Year voting, but produced little after their rookie campaigns.
