1.
Completley Sound and typy dog who is a balkance of types and has great quality. Won nall the Major trophies with something to spare and is now proving to be a valuable sire
2.
He was onge of the typiest bull terriers I've ever seen.exceptional head, front and quarters.Won eight CC'S all with BOB, walked away with all the major trophies, including the movement trophy, all in one go.
A truly beautiful dog.
3.
Supreme Bull Terrier of Southern Africa, Champion of Spain, International FCI Champion, Winner of European Championship 2002< Champion of Chile, Chilean Grand Champion, Champion of Uruguay, Champion of Colombia, Champion of Brazil, Latin American Champion and Champion of Argentinia. Rock was a magnificent, typey Bull Terrier who excelled not only in the ring but also as at Stud- producing 38 Champions World wide. Thirteen of them in his native South Africa - under which another Supreme Bull Terrier and SA Top Terrier. Rock is well known for producing magnificent bone and overall soundness.
4.
Shown as a youngster, probably far too young, and became a champion very early on. Was beaten in the Ormandy Jug by Quilla of Quiillon, but the following year won the competition. Had a very short stud career in the UK but sired 5 champions befoire being sold tom the US for what was then a record sum. Possibly the greatest ever "Terrier type"
Comments:
You are correct,it was Jack Knife not County Game.A red hot line up that year.
You are completely wrong. County Game never won a major trophy.
Quilla won the 1980 Regent Trophy (not the Jug, that was won by Meregis Jack Knife with Quilla runner up , beating Eye Shy. The following year Eye Shy won the Ormandy Jug
5.
A phenomenal "Bull Type" Bull Terrier who had the most astonishing head and pushed the breed forward by producing 16 champions. His faults, a poor front and soft ears werer triffling compared to his fantastic virtue. Lost the Trophies to the more mediocre but sounder Burundi Black, but proved his value as a sire. Passed on his fantastic temerament
Comments:
Audrey and bob were small breeders but the quality was outstanding let's face it if it was not for them most of the great dogs of the last 30 years would not be here
6.
Regent trophy winner and only beaten in the Ornandy Jug by his more powerfull brother Jacqueminot. Had quality and style and still to this day has probably the best expression on any Bull Terrier
7.
Became a champion in just a handfull of shows and departed the UK for the US before he had a cvhanmce to compete in the trophies which he surely would have won. Sespite his early departure he left behind a legacy including his son Ghabar Crusader. Cointinued his great career in the US and is behind most of the current dogs in the US.
Known for his great expression and fron which he passed on unfailingly.
8.
Cited by his breeder at the greatest that he bred and yet is now forgotten as he was sadly sterile. Nevertheless a truly great dog with a stunnning profile and was possibly the moist sould dog from this famous kennel
Comments:
His breeder was Kevin Small, not Mildenhall. In fact,Mildenhall cited Rigsby of Hollyfir as the best he ever owned,a superb dog who very sadly died aged only 9 months old of a brain tumour,a huge loss.Sammy Small was a terrific dog who surely would have won both trophies had he been shown.
9.
Upstanding girl who managed to combine quality and substance and soundness in equal measure. To top mit off she was aso a good mover. Was a triple trophy winner
10.
Beautifull Terrier type ***** who was compoltley correct in so many respects.Beautifully proportioned not big but with a beautifull front and lovley head. Outstanding ***** who was a dual trophy winner at just 16 months beating a top class field on the day.
11.
Top quality dog who went to his title in 4 shows and went on to becopme a triple trophy winner as well as winning BOB at Cuufts and a group placement. Dissapointing stud dog but on his day was unbeatable due to his incredible soundness, showmanship and tremendous movment
12.
Stunning ***** who was oddly overlooked in her early show career yet once she got into her stride was an easy champion and went on the win the Ormandy Jug and runner up in the Regent Trophy.
13.
Top quality dog who became the first dog to win a BIS at a UK show for more than 30 years. Won all the major Trophies before being exported to the US where he was also successfull in the show ring
14.
Legend as the only dog to win BIS at Crufts. He was also unbeaten at any show and won 10cc's when it was unpopular for Bull Terriers to go past 3. Also won the Regent trophy and Ormandy Jug
15.
This dog was type personified. Compact short-backed and with a tremedous head. Phenomenal sire; 23 champions a breed record. Doubtfulll we will ever see his like again
Comments:
Regardless of the health issues that he passed on, the breed would not be where it is now if it were not for "Jim". He is behind most of the dogs in this list including Admiral, Rock and Stone, Huntsman, Eye Opener. Lolar, Essence. None of these dogs would have existed without Jackadandy
We would not use him in the 21st century!!! Everyone of his offspring died from PDK.... You would have to be a fool to know this and stilll use him..
Let's be honest. He was the father of kidney problems. Regardless of his strong points in the past.. No dogs worth the health of a breed.
Quest`s Giancana "Kashmir" NUCH was a great producer, and leaves at least 55 Champions in many countries around the world, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark,Poland, Hungary, Austria, Check Rep. United States, Canada and even New Zealand. Â
Yes he dd have kidney faliure but can hardly be described as the "father" of it as it was around long before him. All dogs add something and without Jackadandy who is behind almost every great Bull Terrier, the breed would not be as it isn today
16.
Legendary dog who reached superstar status by winning Westminster. A silverwood winner who was virtually untouchable during his career. Completley sound and so hard to fault that some judges were rediced to inventing faults that did not exist
17.
Stunning *****, the best I ever saw. How she got beat in the trophies I will never know
18.
Magnificent dog who won the Regent Trophy and Ormandy jug whilst still a youngster. Stallion of a dog with a tremendous profilr and great substance. Had great shgape abnd scope and der=serves his place amongst the greats
19.
Stunning Australian dog that was way ahead of his time. Huge dog and one of the first Australian dogs that would have been competitive in the UK. Tremedoiusly sound and good moving dog who was vitually unbeatable on his day
20.
21.
Much underated dog as often competed against his more successfull brother, Kilacabar Rolling Thunder. However he had a better head and had he been a better showman he may have competed more successfully. Won the Stud Dog Trophy in his first year at stud. Died tragically young after being expoirted to Italy
Comments:
Lovely dog, we used him at stud to our bitch, producing our first litter of 10. So sad he went to Italy and died young. Also used Rolling Thunder - both really lovely dogs from a great litter at that time.
he was so sweet, i met him in Rome and i have some photos with him. very lovely Bully.
Cheeky Tail of Topkine was the dog that won the trophies that year
I saw him,he was well down the line at the trophies, well beaten by a far superior dog owned by Henderson, who's name escapes me.
met him 16 years ago.in rome ,ery quiet and relaxed temperament ,beautiful head , with a terrific bone.
expression wasn't his better quality and a poor rear movement too .a great dog and one of the best stud ever.
i think he don't deserve to be into the top ten .
i owned a dog from him ,same head ,better movement but less bone power.
22.
Fabulous dog, packed with bone and substance with quality throughout, excelling in breed type.A front as good as any ever with outstanding bone and cat feet, great filled head of great strength, lovely construction from nose to tail and an outstanding eye.Hind movement not great, but his cross was a very bad mouth.Would be number one on my list but for this. Not a great show dog but for his mouth but a truly great bull terrier.Yet another who was exported to USA.
23.
Compact white dog who dominated the ring with his sheer prescence. Had a super head is still highlky regarded as one of the US greats
25.
Tremendous heavyweight with a great head and superb movement. Often overlooked as he was largely ignored at stud dog to the simaltaneous arrival of his half brother Ghabar Crusader. Nevertheless a truly great dog who won the Ormandy Jug.
26.
A stunning dog with tremendous ring presence. Always showed out of his skin and broke the CC record which had stood for 40 years. Has the unenviable record of being a runner up in a major trophy on no less than 4 occasions, a feat which many copnsidfer a travesty
