Maybe a AAA team first, just to see how it goes. Seattle could finally have a natural inter league rival.

They now have the NBA basketball for the winter, and can add baseball for summer.

maybe, but I like Nebraska or Kentucky getting a team first. Omaha has a stadium built already, and Louisville has a large baseball corporate presence.

A different place but college teams for several sports in that area do bring in the crowds.

Omaha would be a good choice. They already have a decent stadium and they Support their Independant teams really well. Could be a natural rival with Kansas City.

No way. Can't support minor league ball. No funds to build a needed ballpark.

I'm almost convinced. But they need a stadium and the whole state of Utah would have to support the team. They could have the political foundation and wealth to get it done, but do they have enough fans?

No way. Bluejays trying to claim all of Canada as their territory, already. Would like to see Montreal get their team back, though. B.C. Place also could house a team in Vancouver.

Brooklyn, New York Report Abuse
the B.K. needs a new team
-2 points - added 13 years ago by guest - 1 comment
Comments:
Brooklyn would be cool. How about a AA or AAA team there first? New Jersey would be really nice too. Could go in the Meadowlands where the Nets just left. Don't think financing would be a problem; but the federal antitrust exemption that MLB has had for ages now allows the Yankees and Mets and Phillies to claim New Jersey as theirs like a group of Mob bosses.

Sacramento Report Abuse
-2 points - added 13 years ago by Y_and_A - 1 comment
Comments:
If Athletics get their approval to finally move to San Jose, then the Rivercats should be allowed to join the MLB. Their stadium in West Sacramento, I believe, can still be upgraded to an MLB park. Could put their minor league affiliate in the proposed sports district/complex across the river in SacTown. Could gain disgruntled Oakland fans losing their poor team and create larger spheres of influence in Reno and Fresno. Would be my #2 choice if Athletics move.

How about Baton Rouge, instead? "Red stick" seems like a great name for a baseball town and would be further away from the hurricane zone and more centrally located for the entire state. Louisiana loves their sports. Would work. Guarantee!

Yes. Absolutely. They have a team, a ballpark, a fan base, and an ownership group. Just need to convince the American public that Mexicans are North Americans with the same problems, motivations, and concerns as The U.S. Could be tough.
