We must say he still lives with us. What a singer. I met a retired pilot from Bangladesh in a hotel in Bangkok, he started humming a song from the movie Guide. I asked him are you a Rafi fan? He said yes and went to say what a romantic singer. I felt proud as an Indian at that point.

I have heard many talented singers from around the world, but no one could put the right amount of emotions in a song the way Rafi did. It is sad that he did not get his due and people today don't think of him as much as they think of the so called new singers. No one has been ever able to match his effortless singing. If Dilip Kumar can get Padma Vibhushan, Mohd. Rafi deserves Bharat Ratna. I am clearly convinced with this fact having seen works of many artists.

Find another singer that could render all singing styles from Classical styles like Bhajans, Ghazals, Qawallis, devotional, sad, happy, slow, fast, cabaret, Rock & Roll, patriotic to Disco etc... A gentle, quiet simple human being like Rafi Sahab could simply transform himself behind the mic and render such a wide range of song styles is just amazing !!! No doubt he was the most God Gifted singer !!! No other singer could render a mind blowing live performance on stage such as Rafi Sahab. If you listen to his London live stage performances in the late 70's and hear the cheering reaction of the audience, that say's it all. Even Kishore da stated there is no other singer like Rafi Sahab !!!!

KK was the greatest entertainer but as far as singing is concerned he had his limitations......He is no match to Rafisaab who is the greatest playback singer our country has produced.

I am a great lover of old songs apart from new songs if composed with better lyrics but Mohd Rafi is all time best and no one can match him,though kishore da, Manna day,Mukesh ji, and Talat mehmood sahab all were best and unique.Why I say so no indian play back singer has matched the voice of the co star exactly like mohd Rafi saheb.He was simply God gifted and un matched.

Kishore was no doubt one of the great legends of singing with a catchy voice but to say he was the greatest of all is simply not true at all. The fact is he was slightly limited in singing all styles. A non classical trained singer cannot render better than a classical trained singer. However he did render well at singing semi-classical songs. Kishore da's voice became more coarser as he aged into his 50's. One has to observe the majority of Kishore's catchy songs was due to RD Burman's very catchy western style compositions which were more simpler based and suited Kishore very well. As a matter of fact it was due to RD Burman Kishore had hit the big spot light from 1969.

Kishore Kumar is the greatest legend in playback singing...he made a mark without any training in singing and yet sang many classical based songs with much better renditions and variations than any contemporary singer like lata,rafi etc..his voice has amazing gravity which travels within you..and of course his all time evergreen hits are real gems in bollywood industry..his vocal notes were so perfect tht even asha and lata felt inferior in front of him..he was also the most versatile of all...he is just too great to talk abt... ..
