Bill Sharman Report Abuse

Bill Sharman was was one of the greatest shooting guards and players that has ever played the game. He was an All Star 8 out of his 11 seasons in the NBA, and in 1955 was the MVP of the All Star Game. Bill won 4 championships in his last 5 seasons and played a huge roll on the start of the Celtics' dynasty. Bill lead the league in free throw shooting nearly every year during his career. 4 times he was selected to the All NBA first team and 3 times to the All NBA second team. He was voted one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. He is also one of three men to be induced in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach. Of couse, he was inducted as a player in 1975. In 2004 he was also inducted as a coach. What a successful basketball icon and legend this man was. The only other guys to have been inducted to the Hall of Fame twice was JOhn Wooden and Lenny Wilkens. So who ever wrote this list, should have rated Bill much higher!
