2009 Confederations Cup Semi Finals - United States Defeats Spain 2 - 0
The United States team defeated currently #1 ranked in the world and European Champion Spain in the Confederations Cup semi final. The United States had showed that it was struggling in recent World Cup Qualifiers prior to the tournament. The struggling continued as the team only got to the semi finals by the 3rd tie breaker - Goals Scored, beating out Italy and Egypt. Spain was on a 15 game winning stream and had not lost in 35 games. It is easily considered one of the greatest upsets in soccer.

1950 World Cup's Miracle on Grass - United States Beats England 1 - 0
This is considered one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history. It is also considered one of the greatest if not the greatest upset in United States soccer. It was called the Miracle on Grass. The United States was filled with amatuers and a few immigrants while England was a team of professionals and easily one of the best teams in the world at the time.

I've been a rabid Cincinnati Reds fan for 40 years, but I tell ya, this wasn't as much of an upset as some think. Oakland had one of the great choke, overrated teams in baseball history. Cincinnati had one of the best pitching staffs of the 1990's. Good pitching will always stop good hitting.....ALWAYS! As a Red's fan, this was sweet revenge for 1972.....

I'm not one to be bitter, I'm really not.....BUT.....all you have to do is look at the film and you will see that Team USA didn't lose this game. It was taken from them by inept officials hell bent on giving the game to the communists.....

Once again, good pitching will handle supposed good hitting. Another example of how this Oakland A's team was overrated......Made a legend out of Kirk Gibson. The Dodgers weren't that good of a team. If Oakland was as good as the media made them out to be, LA wouldn't have made it past Game 5.....

No team in the NFL had more players cross the picket line during the 1987 strike than the Cowboys. Entering a game with the Redskins on Monday Night Football. Washington had also won their two games during the strike, but without any veterans. For this game the Cowboys had Danny White, Randy White, Tony Dorsett, Ed Jones among other veterans, but were upset by the replacement Redskins players

The guy from tropical Australia, hardly a speed skating powerhouse is now well past his prime. In the semi finals a collision allows him to narrowly squeak into the finals. In the finals Steven is trailing all the other skaters by a very large margin. They all collide. Steven because he is so far behind avoids the chaos and coast over the finish line giving Australia its first every Olympic gold medal. Watch it on youtube, hilarious.

Was UK's first loss at home in eight ? years, maybe 16 or so to a SEC opponent. Ragtag Tech team did not substitute...played same five. Tech was beaten previous year by Kentucky both times by over 50 points. Tech player stold ball in final seconds to make winning shots..UK fans were actually crying in the stands
