Once of the most promising students of the leaf this good guy turned bad used his hatred towards his brother that slayed there family and clan to become one of the most powerful ninja around.

After loosing the bid to become Hokage Madara leaves the hidden leaf to later form the Akatsuki a group of powerful ninjas that collect tailed beast in order to dominate the world. He has the ability to tele-port, become intanigbile, wield the Mangekyo Sharingan, and more. Not to mention immortality.

Pain has the power that only the father of all ninja possessed. This bad guy actually had a good goal which was to create world piece, but after a lifetime of suffering he starts to believe only devastating war and fear can create an artificial fear where everyone is to scared to fight. However, Naruto changes his mind. He never really loses in the story since his God-like powers make him unbeatable; however, in the end he sacrifices himself to bring back all the people he killed as a show of remorse for his misguided crimes.

Sasuke's Older brother and probably the most powerful of the Uchiha actually allows his younger brother to kill him so he can get the revenge that made him stronger all this years. His one goal was to protect his younger brother who believed that he killed their family. In his dying action he transfers all of his incredible powers to his younger brother.

Itachi's partner who wields an imaginable amount of power. He can create lakes, sharks, and he wields a sword that only allow the strongest of the strongest to wield it. In the story he is not killed, but actually commits suicide because he is shamed for having lost.
