Who didnt love different strokes? The show had all the makings of what dreams are made of, 2 african american young boys are adopted by a rich white park avenue businessman who also has a daughter. This was one of the first shows to bring to the spotlight mixed race families and deal with prejudice along with other issues.

The first airing of the show in 1984 proved to be the best thing for the network as well as showing that not all shows had to stereo-type african americans and that there were educated upper class african american families. Bill Cosby and his tv family quickly became household names.

A show about African American Women living in the same apartment building sharing friendship,gossip and problems. This show reminded me of the movie The Women of Brewsters Place. The show also introduced hollywood actress Regina King.
